This August, we are thrilled to announce that we will be supporting Action for Conservation (AFC), an award-winning charity dedicated to inspiring and empowering young people to take action for the natural world. From a Simple Idea to a National Movement

Action for Conservation was born in 2014 from a simple, powerful idea. Founder Hendrikus van Hensbergen and his colleagues visited his old school to talk about their work in conservation. They saw a spark of what was possible if they could inspire young people to join their cause.

From that spark, AFC has grown into a national charity with a team of over twenty dedicated staff. To date, they have inspired and empowered over 6,500 young people across England and Wales to become powerful voices for nature.

Creating Young Environmental Leaders

Action for Conservation runs innovative and impactful programmes designed to create lasting change. They focus on reaching young people who face the greatest barriers to accessing and shaping the future of nature in the UK. Their key initiatives include:

• Summer Camps: Unforgettable residential camps for 12-16 year-olds packed with hands-on conservation activities, career advice, and adventure, all guided by young environmental professionals.

• Ambassador Programme: A one-year initiative that empowers camp graduates to lead change in their own communities, develop communication skills, and influence their peers.

• Youth Rangers: Paid training opportunities for young people to gain practical skills in nature restoration, forestry, and regenerative farming, preparing them for a future environmental career.
