Your Support Helps Younger People Living with Dementia: Meet Our September Charity Partner, YPWD
This September, we are proud to support Younger People with Dementia (YPWD), a charity dedicated to helping people under 65 living with young onset dementia, along with their families and loved ones. Through meaningful activities, practical support and opportunities for social connection, YPWD helps individuals build confidence, maintain independence and continue living fulfilling lives.
Supporting Younger People Living with Dementia
Younger People with Dementia (YPWD) was established to support individuals under the age of 65 who are living with young onset dementia, as well as their families and loved ones.
A diagnosis of dementia at a younger age can bring unique challenges. People may still be working, raising children, managing busy households or making plans for the future. YPWD understands that support should be tailored to the individual, helping people remain active, connected and engaged in the things that matter most to them.
Through its dedicated work, YPWD is helping to ensure that younger people living with dementia are not defined by their diagnosis, but are supported to continue living fulfilling and meaningful lives.
Creating Opportunities for Connection and Confidence
YPWD provides a range of age-appropriate activities, workshops and support designed to promote independence, wellbeing and social connection. These opportunities give individuals the chance to try new experiences, develop confidence and spend time with others who understand what they are going through.
Their activities include:
Activity-Based Workshops
From rock climbing to equine therapy, YPWD’s workshops encourage participants to stay active, explore new interests and enjoy shared experiences in a supportive environment.
Building Independence
The charity helps younger people living with dementia maintain independence and confidence by providing opportunities to learn, participate and make choices in a way that works for them.
Support for Families
YPWD also recognises the vital role played by families and loved ones. Their support helps families better understand young onset dementia, manage the challenges they face and feel less isolated along the way.
How Your Support Makes a Difference
Throughout September, our support will help YPWD continue providing these valuable activities and services for younger people living with dementia and their families. The funds we raise can help create more opportunities for individuals to connect with others, take part in activities, build confidence and enjoy experiences that bring purpose and joy to everyday life.
By choosing to work with us, you are helping support a charity that makes sure younger people living with dementia have access to understanding, friendship and meaningful opportunities. Together, we can help ensure that families receive the support they need, when they need it most.
We are incredibly proud to support the work of YPWD. To learn more about their inspiring mission, get involved or help support their work.
